Zombie dogs : Soviet Experiment Resurrected Dead

In 1940, Russian scientists brought back a severed head of a dog to life  .In was an experiments on the revival of organisms that was held at the institute of Experimental Physiology and Therapy, Voronezh, U.S.S.R by Soviet scientist Dr. S.S. Bryukhonenko. In the video the dog's head were connected from a reservoir of arterial blood to the actual severed arteries, and while one pump transported the blood into the dog's head, the other drained out the oxygen-deprived venous blood.

By the way, the dogs in these video are heavily sedated so they do not feel pain. The dog's head are hooked into a heart-lung machine that slowly return the head to life.The heads were kept alive for several hours, wiggling their ears in response to sounds and even licking their mouths and nostril when the scientist rub a q-tip of acid .

These experiments were documented on film, released in 1940 as 20-minutes movie called Experiments in the Revival of Organisms. You can watch the video below.
