Did The Titanic and Olympic were “switched” in an insurance-fraud scheme ?

J.P. Morgan composed a plan, where they could not only recover the costs of the repairs being made to the Olympic, but they could also recover the money it had taken to build the Titanic in the biggest insurance scam in history.



J.P Morgan(April 17,1837 - March 31,1913) was a Wall Street banker and the owner of RMS Titanic.
He ordered White star line to build Titanic, but her nearly identical sister ship, Olympic,was built first.

In 1911, Captain Smith was called upon to take first command of the Olympic- the largest vessel in the world at that time. However,Under Captain Smith, Olympic collides with a British Royal Navy cruiser and suffers large holes and structural damage below the waterline.The accident was Olympic's fault, the insurers refuse to pay £500,000 to cover White Star's legal and repair fees.

After suffering propeller damage, It took two weeks to repair the Olympic.The Olympic was repair using the Titanic's propeller shaft at the dry dock next to Titanic. The White Star Line wanted to her to be back in service as soon as possible because she was the pride of the company. They would even delay the Titanic's maiden voyage if they had to.

Captain Smith was ordered to be the new captain of the Titanic and makes her first and final voyage under his command. In the end, the Titanic sinking took the lives of 1,347 men and 103 women and has become the largest peacetime maritime disaster in history.


RMS Titanic Was In Fact The RMS Olympic

Writer Robin Gardiner in his book, Titanic: The Ship That Never Sank? believes it was not the Titanic that sank,but was in fact Titanic's sister ship Olympic disguised as Titanic. The ships were switched in dry dock and Olympic was scuttled in the Atlantic in the biggest insurance scam in history. The White Star Line usually insured its vessels for 75 per cent of value,  $10million each, but increased it a week before the "Titanic" voyage. The company received  $12.5million five days after the ship sank.

He also says , the passenger accounts and photographic evidence do not match the Titanic's design, but Olympic's. The RMS Titanic, when it was built in Ireland, had 14 portholes at the front, and large evenly spaced windows on the second deck. Furthermore, RMS Olympic, when it was built side by side the Titanic, had 16 portholes at the front, and thin, evenly spaced windows on the deck.

He believes the tragic loss of life was not intended but the result of a poorly planned rescue operation. The moment, the ship hit the iceberg. The rescue ship, that was supposed to be near the ship was no where in sight ,and the closest ship responding to their SOS, was the Carpathia and she was over 2 hours away.

Evidence also, includes the fact that more than 50 Titanic passengers cancelled their bookings at the last minute. Among them were J.P. Morgan who had cancel his passage, only hours before the ship was due to sail.
