The previous maid had left 6 months earlier, saying the home was haunted. The new maid arrived only hours before the murders. It is believed that the perpetrator(s) remained at the farm for several days – someone had fed the cattle, and eaten food in the kitchen: the neighbours had also seen smoke from the chimney during the weekend. Top 10 Extinct Animals That May Still Exist

1) Tasmanian Tiger (Thylacine) : Reported extinct around 1936.

Based on fossil records, its immediate family members are known to have existed as early as 23 million to 5 million years ago.

In late 2013, a team of british naturalists from the Centre for Fortean Zoology traveled into the wild terrains of Tasmania where the human population is near non-existent. Even though they haven’t been able to capture any live footage of the animal with their camera traps, the researches are optimistic that some specimens still exists.

The group claims that they’ve interviewed some fairly credible witnesses and gathered sources of what could be the animal’s feces for DNA analysis.

“[One witness] was a government licensed shooter who controls wallaby numbers. He saw the animal twice, he also knew a forestry worker who saw one. All these were in the north-east. The owner of a team rooms and garden saw one in central Tasmania. Many more sightings uncovered by Tony Healy [one of the expedition members] ranging from 1982 to 2012,” reads a post on Fortean Zoology by one of the expedition team members.

2) Wooly Mammoth : Reported extinct around 2,000 B.C.

Due to a combination of hunting and climate change, the last known mainland Mammoths died in Siberia nearly 10,000 years ago.

in 1920, a Frenchman told a fantastic story of seeing what certainly sounds like a mammoth in Siberia:

“It was a huge elephant with big white tusks that were very curved. Its hair was a dark chestnut color as far as I could see. It had fairly long hair on the hindquarters, but it seemed shorter in the front. I must say, I had no idea there were such big elephants! A second beast was around . . . it seemed to be at least as big as the first.”

As late as 1948, frozen mammoths were discovered with meat still fresh. That’s not exactly solid evidence, but given the vast wilderness of Siberia, it isn’t out of the question. Every once in a while, unconfirmed reports will trickle out of the area, mentioning “elephant-like” creatures.

3) Mokele-mbembe : Extinct roughly 65 million years ago.

Mokele-mbembe meaning “one who stops the flow of rivers,” is a large, long-necked, long-tailed reptile. The legendary creature is said to live deep in the Congo River basin of Central Africa and is thought by some cryptozoologists to be a Sauropod dinosaur.

William Gibbons, an explorer, has conducted expeditions deep into the Congo. Gibbons met Pastor Eugene P. Thomas who recounted that the pygmies, a local tribe situated near Lake Tele ended up killing one of the Mokele-Mbembes in 1959.

The story was that the tribe fished daily in the lake channels where the Mokele-Mbembes used to roam around in search of vegetation. The pygmies decided to erect a barrier across the river so their fishing activities wouldn’t be disrupted. However, seeing that the creatures were attempting to break through the barrier, the pygmies speared one of them to death and later cut it into pieces which took several days.

According to Gibbon’s blog on anomalist.com, the tribe described the creature to Thomas as “being bigger than a forest elephant with a long neck, a small lizard-like head, which was decorated with a comb-like frill. It had a long, flexible tail, a smooth, reddish-brown skin and four stubby, but powerful legs with clawed toes.”

1) Hero's Steam Engine

Aeolipile ,also known as Hero engine

The aeolipile Hero described is considered to be the first recorded steam engine or reaction steam turbine.

Pre-dating Hero's writings, a device called an aeolipile was described in the 1st century BC by Vitruvius in his treatise De architectura; however, it is unclear whether it is the same device or a predecessor, as there is no mention of any rotating parts.

2) Klerksdorp Speheres

Klerksdorp sphere

Klerksdorp spheres are small objects, often spherical to disc-shaped, that have been collected by miners and rockhounds from 3-billion-year-old pyrophyllite deposits mined by Wonderstone Ltd., near Ottosdal, South Africa. They have been cited by some alternative researchers and reporters in books, popular articles, and many web pages, as inexplicable out-of-place artifacts that could only have been manufactured by intelligent beings. Geologists who have studied these objects argue that the objects are not manufactured, but are rather the result of natural processes.

Roelf Marx, curator of the museum of Klerksdorp, South Africa, where some of the spheres are housed, said: 'The spheres are a complete mystery. They look man-made, yet at the time in Earth's history when they came to rest in this rock no intelligent life existed. They're nothing like I have ever seen before'.

1) Antikythera Mechanism

recovered in 1900–1901 from the Antikythera wreck,
The Antikythera mechanism is an analog computer that was used by the Greeks more than 2000 years ago to locate and predict the positions of celestial objects. When new, the device was made of bronze with a wooden frame and was roughly the size of a wall clock. The name Antikythera comes from the island near where the device was discovered in the remains of a shipwreck that occurred in or around the year 76 B.C

a antikythera mechanism replica
Like a mechanical clock, the Antikythera mechanism has dials along with a sophisticated system of gears. It bears inscriptions that have been deciphered. Based on its construction and on the nature of the writing, scientists have deduced that the Antikythera mechanism must have been used to measure astronomical time based on cycles of the sun, the moon and the planets. In this way it could have been employed to predict solar and lunar eclipses, tides and the recurrence of the seasons. These functions would have made the device useful to farmers, seafarers and perhaps even military commanders.

2) Abydos Carvings

The Abydos helicopter (a.k.a. Abydos Submarine, Abydos Jet Plane, Abydos UFO etc.)
The Abydos helicopter is a pseudoscientific modern myth that has been spread rapidly via the Internet concerning the singular appearance of a re-carved inscription in the mortuary temple of Seti I in Abydos, Egypt. It is claimed this carving depicts various high-tech and/or alien technologies, such as submarines, jet planes and UFO's, thus playing into the theories that Ancient Egyptian civilization was either influenced or founded by aliens or Atlanteans.

3) The Dendera Lights

The Dendera Lights
The Dendera Lights Carving were found in the Dendera Temple Complex , located about 2.5 km south-east of Dendera, Egypt. It is one of the best-preserved temple complexes in Egypt.

Dendera Temple Complex, Egypt

4) Baalbek Megaliths

Baalbek Mgaliths in The Lebanon

In the middle course of the masonry of the outer wall of the Acropolis at Baalbek in The Lebanon, there are three great stones each measuring 63 ft. long by thirteen feet high by 10ft. thick.

The Acropolis is supposed to have been a Roman Temple dedicated to the god Jupiter-Baal, but no classical scholar has yet been able to explain how three massive cut stones could have been lifted to rest on a substructure 23ft. high. Neither Bechtel nor the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the leading experts on heavy lifting and moving can do that feat today even with the most sophisticated machinery. Each stone after all weighs in the region of 1,200 tons.

Who and what can move any of these stones today and how they moved in the first place?
Even more puzzling is the largest cut-stone known to exist anywhere which is found in the quarry within sight of the Acropolis, about half a mile away. This quarry was presumably the origin of the massive stones in place in the Acropolis. This stone is 68ft. long and roughly 14 ft. square. Its enormity can be judged by noticing the small figure of a man sitting on its top with his friend just below and slightly to the right.
