Mysterious Death of Kurt Cobain

Kurt Cobain
On April 8, 1994, Kurt Cobain the lead singer of the band Nirvana were found dead at his home. He was claimed to committed suicide three days prior on April 5. The Police Department states that Cobain was found with a shotgun across his body, had a visible head wound and there was a suicide note discovered nearby. However, several theorist believed that he was murdered and didn't shoot himself with the shotgun found on his body.

Here's a few quick reasons why:

1) The Suicide Note

Suicide Note

In the above note, after Cobain's sign off, the writing looks different than the rest of the letter. The physically different ending are the only lines implying suicide. Hand writing experts have also queried whether the note was actually written in its entirely by Cobain.

2) No fingerprints on the shotgun.

Shotgun found near Cobain
The police reports says there were no "legible" fingerprints on the shotgun, none on the pen found with the alleged suicide note, or the box of shotgun shells found beside Cobain.

3) Drug overdose

The autopsy carried out on his body showed he had been injected with three times the normal lethal dose of heroin which would have left him incapacitated and caused him to lapse into a coma in seconds, or would have killed him instantly. He also would have been in no condition to carefully pull the needle from his arm, put his drug paraphernalia back into a cigar box, roll down and button his sleeves and then pick up a Remington 20-gauge shotgun.

Cobain death linked to Courtney Love

1) Courtney Love offers 50k to have Cobain killed

Filmmaker Nick Bloomfield investigated the murder theory a few years later by interviewing friends, family members, and enemies of Cobain. One of those enemies was El Duce, the Mentors’ band leader, who claimed Courtney offered him $50,000 to kill Cobain. Courtney apparently said the following:
El, I need a favour of you. My old man’s been a real asshole lately, I need you to blow his fucking head off… I’ll give you 50,000 to blow his fucking head off.”
El passed a polygraph test with this accusation. He went further saying he knew who killed Kurt, but failed to mention a name. Later in the interview, he mentioned someone named “Alan”, then laughed and said “I mean, my friend.. I’ll let the FBI catch him”. El Duce died a few days after this interview, by being run over by a train.

2) Cobain’s excludes Coutney Love from his will

Cobain’s attorney Rosemary Carroll claims Cobain was not suicidal. This echoes the belief of Cobain’s bandmates, friends, and family. Cobain told Caroll to draw up a will excluding Love because he was about to file for divorce. Some see this as motive for Courtney hiring a killer to dispose of Cobain.
